S France to Geneva. Can be done in a day. Nice to Sospel, D2204. Hairpins, hairpins. Sospel has an air-conditioned cyber-cafe, and a petrol station that shuts for lunch. At Sospel, turn North-West up the D2566, leads up into the Alps-Provence past Val D'Isere and stuff, ultimately Geneva. Mountains, passes, ski resorts all the way. Or, from Sospel continue North-East through Col de Tende, a fantastic ancient tunnel, and down into the flatlands of N Italy. Nail it up the autostrada past Turin, then slow down and enjoy the scenery as it climbs into the Alps. Tunnel city, man. Culminating in the incredible 11K tunnel under Mont Blanc. Easy swoop down into Geneva. Recommended campsite in Geneva - TCS Bellerive, by the lake in Vesenaz, 6K East of Geneva along the south shore of the lake.
