A good place to stay which is within easy reach of the ferry at Bilbao is the Hotel Risco, a very nice hotel with fantastic views of the sea, or the Hotel Torrecerredo which is a bit further away if you have time for a longer stay in this area.

| If you ever want to end up staying near Bilbao so you are within easy reach of the port to catch the early ferry then a good place to stay is Laredo, and if you are arriving from the south such as from Madrid then the road you can take there is awsome. We had a fantastic time riding this road back in June 2003. Turning off the A1 (the Burgos to Bilbao road) here takes you onto the N232. You then take the N629 all the way to Barcena where you turn left onto the S514 and follow it all the way to Laredo. This road is a combination of very fast undulating straights interspersed with both tight and sweeping twisties and views to take your breath away. |
